Installing Nvidia 1080 ti driver

Hi,
How to install propriety nvidia Geforce 1080 ti graphic card driver on leap 15.5. Any easy way.
Thanks

@rhussain Hi, have a read here https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:NVIDIA_drivers

I tried that guide, after reboot only one display out of three. I need to rollback to previous snapshot. Thanks to snapper.

@rhussain What desktop are you on? Did you check the desktop display settings to ensure all three where visible or nvidia-settings?

I am on KDE PLASMA. I don’t have nvidia setting option. How to install that setting ?

@rhussain did you install nvidia-utils-G06?

I installed it but it never opens. I am on wayland not x11. Is that the reason ?

Yes, the nvidia-settings app is only for X11, to the best of my knowledge

You are right, It works on only X11. Not sure if there is any hack to work with wayland.

Thanks for your help. I appreciate.

@rhussain so do all three screens work in X11?

Yeah. It was working before with default driver setup on wayland. I just thought the driver is not properly installed, so I tried to installed again. Now I rollback and installed your recemended utility. I can see run nvidida-settings in x11 but not in wayland.

Wayland is protocol. Screen configuration is completely in the hands of wayland compositor which is the only program allowed to access the actual hardware. Wayland compositor is reimplemented by major desktop environments, so if you are using KDE, it is the question (or bug) related to KDE.

And what driver is used “in the previous snapshot”?

It was installed by default. I guess Leap 15.5 took care of that. I am still facing some issue on wayland. When I am in google meet my screen froze. I have to restart my machine. Still troubleshooting that issue.

What was installed by default?

Yes, that is correct. I did not installed anything it worked out of the box.
I think it was nvidia G06.
