i wanted to update xine lib but fail

i am trying to search more video codec such as avi and mpeg(cannot play such file in 11.0).And i update the libxine1 and it failed.Y?

Depends - how exactly did it “fail”?

I suppose you still have the crippled ‘xine-lib’ installed, am I correct? Kick it out and it should work.

i see.hopefully i can solve that problem by uninstall d crippled xine lib.

If you have only 4 repos setup (OSS, Non-OSS, Update and Packman), and no others, then you can easily remove the crippled xine-lib (packaged by Novell/SuSE-GmbH) and install the libxine1 (from packman). Just be certain to do them simultaneous, to avoid dependency problems. I recommend only those 4 as adding others without knowing what you are doing can cause functionality problems.

Other codecs worth obtaining can be installed by installing the packman packaged libffmpeg0 (not the videolan packaged version) and the packman w32codec-all (plus packman packaged libquicktime and xvidcore). Good luck
