I made an openSUSE icon theme that you can use/help expand

Hello there,
i made an openSUSE themed icon theme for my desktop that is based on Flat Remix. Maybe other people like it too, so I thought I would share it. It is however still very minimal at this point.

The philosophy behind the theme is as follows:

  • have some openSUSE branded folder icons (three colours available) and different mime-type icons as I don’t like the Gnome default much (theme should work with any desktop environment though, at the very least with plasma)
  • otherwise the theme is supposed to be very minimal. If the default icon of an app already looks fairly nice, this theme doesn’t want to change that. It only wants to replace those that don’t look too great/too old fashioned, those that could use some branding or those where the flat remix icon the theme is based on looks much better. (This is all somewhat subjective obviously)
  • the new icons are a mix of original flat remix icons, slightly modified ones and one created by me trying to emulate the style
  • the branding shouldn’t be overbearing. Some icons have some openSUSE brand colours or a geeko thrown in, but overall the desktop should still look colourful/not overloaded with branding

The theme can be found here

Install into ~/.local/share/icons/ for optimal results. (The master zip contains all the .svg files I made and variations, while the other only has the theme itself).

Since I only used the theme for my desktops and apps so far, it is still very minimal and only has icons for very few apps. You can help me expand it by giving it a shot and telling me what icons you like and which apps could use their own icon. Or just tell me which icons of your current desktop you don’t like, with optional screenshot, so I can add icons for those.
If you want to contribute your own icons, that would be welcome too, as long as the style fits,

Edit: the original flat remix theme can be found here DяA | Daniel Ruiz de Alegría
