I cant find a way to silence the laptop lid open and close chimes. I still want the chime when i plug or unplug power though.
I am on tumbleweed 06/03/2026 and using wayland and kde Plasma 6.6.5
Did you check the notification settings for “Screen locked/Screen unlocked” sound? Because closing the lid most likely activates the screen lock.
systemsettings->Notifications->Configure for Applications->Screen Saver->Screen Lock
@erbenton I have a question, why are you not keeping your system rolling?
Your going to get hit with the likes of the build key changes, plasma is now at 6.7.1 etc?
You would be better off running Slowroll or Leap 16.0?

those are already set to no sound
Uncheck the sounds one by one and test. It is hard to guess. Some search shows that it might be due to change of power state of periphals. Play a little bit with the notifications for power/energy.
We had other cases in the forum where the sound was not coming from Plasma notifications at all but from an app.
I have a 5 pc network and i was getting some issues there fixed and fell behind. I can now try updating to the latest TW. I was also waiting for a fix to LibreOffice.
I am now updated to latest TW
