i tried some other hpsa.dd files from the hp homepage but it wont work , i cant make it running.
its not possible to install the Open Suse 13.2 with Raid1 on this controller HP Dynamic Smart Array B320i
I browsed the internet and other forums but seems no one got it running with opensuse
Does anyone know how it can be done?
(if i disable the controller in bios i can install the OS , the problem seems here that the controller is not for suse 13.2 but i dont know how to update it)
Right - after reading up a bit on the B version of the HP array controller - it doesn’t even use the HPSA which the SAS version uses, it uses the HPVSA proprietary closed source driver.
I can’t get my hands on the sources so I can’t make a suitable update package for it. You might want to opt for SLES in this case.
Early recommendation was to disable the disk controller and enable an ordinary SAS/SATA connection… BUT this recommendation is not latest!
Early recommendation seems to be that you should ask HP to set and include the proprietary RAID driver at the factory before shipping to you… BUT this may not be the only solution today.
