I have a HP pavilion dv5 1090es laptop, and a intel pro wireless 4965AGN wireless network device.
I have already installed the 4965agn driver included in the opensuse installation dvd.
However, when typing ‘hwinfo --netcard’ the system identifies my card as ‘Intel Network Controller’. ‘iwconfig’ command returns ‘no wireless extensions’
I have checked that the kernel loads iwl4965, and a ‘modinfo iwl4965’ returns a right response.
My laptop has some tactile controls that suse doesn’t recognize. The most important is the wireless one. It is always shining red(disabled), and I fear that this is the cause of my problems.
I have installed all the hotkeys & keyboards related packages that are included in the openSuse installation dvd, but without success.
Yes configured the device via Yast, but it doesn’t work, as no wireless device is detected.
If you think it’s better, i can post again in wireless section. I read the styckies there and this is the result:
