I have zero issues with x11, wayland clipboards simultaneously myself and I don’t believe the issue is wayland but alas I’ll let you ask chatgpt that…

@forcage Consider switching to VNC, AFAIK spice support is going away (well has for Leap) likewise X11 won’t be supported soon for Plasma…
If the Wayland setup has an issue, then consider a bug report to get it fixed.

Thank you, I was not aware that Spice was going away.
But as far as I know, work is underway in Spice to fix my problem, so a bug report (especially in Wayland) is unnecessary.
I don’t hold grudges, no hard feelings here at all. You gotta understand that arguing with someone who doubts you over LLM is quite a waste of time, especially for maintainers - cuz it escalates in more and more doubt usually for no gain other than the person doubting. At the end of the day an educated person will be more credible and also be able to avoid the inevitable bias an LLM will be fed if you prompt it unknowingly.
I have worked with wayland integration myself in multiple GUI toolkits, so I do know how it works.

Why should I take the time of busy people and make them investigate for free when the robot can answer in seconds? If it is not appropriate, then I escalate my problem to the forum.

Thank you. I do not consider X as an end (dead or otherwise). I have already known that it was going out. When my setup breaks again, I look for what works at that time. Hopefully all the current parts will fit together.
There’s huge load of examples from history, where people trusted their eyes and f.e. reported great success in war after they bombed a tank division cardboard mockup. Or, f.a.e. thought they could easily swim from Ameland to Schiermonnikoog because they had already done double that distance in a pool.
I’ll explain it once again: AI(-agents / LLMs ) cannot think or see outside of the box created by the prompt. They do not understand thoughts like “Wait, this person is German and literally translated from German, given earlier posts this must be about KDE and implies an NVIDIA card”. Or “Wait, this is that guy from the Swedish speaking part of Finland that now lives in Gambia, which makes his climate question largely different”. Ot, in this case, “Wait this guy doesn’t yet know that KDE is deprecating X11 support”. AI is not a WHO, it’s an IT.
Every AI result is useless unless the user provides a
- full prompt
- full result
- decent own interpretation of that entire result.
If either of these three conditions is not met in full, than there is no debate possible, due to lack of information. With all three met, the debate will be about the prompt, and the user’s interpretation of that prompt and their actions taken based on what they decide is useful from the result.
What is interesting is why you feel insulted/attacked(?) when someone calls an AI result “BS”. And why you apparently do not trust ChatGPT enough to not have to ask plain humans. What some of those humans likely apparently do not like is that they are not debating with a person, but with the results of AI/ML/LLMs, without the three conditions mentioned above having been met.

- Plasma 6.8 will be released on 2026-10-14
- Plasma 6.8.x will no longer support an X11 session
- X11 support built into KDE apps is being removed, results have already shown in these forums.
