How to remove kate path at top of page

In the version of kate I am using ( 24.02.0 ) there seems to be a new feature where the very top line of a page shows the path to the file. It’s fixed at the top line of the page no matter how much you scroll.
It’s very annoying - is there a way to turn that off?

„Show full path“ can be disabled in kate settings.

Well, on my version that option doesn’t exist. How exactly do you get to it? That help page must be for a different version

Did you try the help which you can reach from the menu?

yep, it refers to a configuration menu but my kate has no configuration menu

It has a menu bar. Accessible via hamburger menu or Ctrl+M

what is the name of the menu bar?
I have selected (enabled):
Menu Bar
Status Bar
Spaces Bar
The only other bar listed but not selected is a Quick Filter bar
BTW: Ctrl-M on my TB brings up a new message so instead I select Hamburger/View/Toolbars

How is Thunderbird related to this topic? I thought this thread is about kate. And in kate CTRL+M opens or closes the menu bar…

And direct access:

oops, my bad, i was half asleep, disregard
I went to the item you show and unchecked it but even after restarting kate that line at the top is still there. let me attach a screen shot.
Hmm,
I don’t see a way to attach anything, so i guess a screenshot is out

screenshot here.
See that line right above line 19 with the path on it? That’s what i want to remove

Maybe logout-login is needed?

I just let Spectacale moving it to the Clibboard, selected it there and pasted below

I rebooted, it didnt help

Simply follow the way described in my second post (direct access). It works…

Unchecking ‘Show Navigation Bar’ did the trick. Thanks!
