I have a laptop running Leap 15.4, KDE. It connects wirelessly to the router. There are two HP printers connected to the laptop via USB. Both printers are working.
Is there an idiot’s guide to explain how I can print from my android phone or tablet? At the moment, I email the document to the laptop and print from there.
I have had a look on the internet, they talk about sharing a printer, or a network printer. I am not sure what I am looking for.
Thank you for your help in advance.
I would try to connect the printer to your home network, the same network you use the connect you Android phone/tablet. Then see:
I think I have connected my printer to my home network via CUPS. How would I check if I have done this correctly?
Also does HP Smart app work with USB printers? I have a HP Deskjet F4180 and HP Laserjet M1132 MFP printers connected to the laptop, neither of them is wireless.
Okay, I see the HP Deskjet F4180 is from 2009 or earlier and has only an USB interface, the same is true for the HP Laserjet M1132 MFP, is seems to be from 2012.
The I think you should enable Cups Printer sharing on the computer that has these printers attached.
The see How to print to CUPS to print from an Android device.
