How to manually assign manually an ip address

Hi There,

I’m trying to configure an equipment that uses a subnet of 192.168.20. Can you please tell how to manually assign an ip address command based & GUI based in Opensuse 13.1.

Thanks,

YaST > Network Devices > Nework Settings.

And go for using “traditionaly with ifup”.

BTW, 192.168.20 is not realy a subnet definition, you need the mask also.

Try.

You can do that using “Classic IFUP/IFDOWN” as described above or also in Network Manager simply by modifying selecting the Connection, then modifying its properties.

As Henk mentions,
What you call the “subnet” is actually the NetworkID which is defined by the subnet mask.
