How to install gnome 3?

I have installed openSUSE 11.4. How can I install gnome 3 on it?

Hi,

You should have done some research before posting, there are lots of thread already on this subject : Gnome 3.0 is here

Which desktop environment are you using now?

Live cd’s here
Index of /repositories/GNOME:/Medias/images/iso

don’t you think you are being rude by answering a legitimate question with a not so subtle sarcasm? I guess you were not raised in a polite household.
By the way your links are an infinite loop since eventually they link back to opensuse home page with no explanation as to how to install gnome 3 over the current gnome 2.x install.

Easy as pie.

1 Click install here.

openSUSE:GNOME 3.0 - openSUSE

it somehow isn’t working for me :frowning:

Click it and wait…several minutes
Why it’s so slow I don’t know

Like the other guys have told you, you can Upgrade your installation via the 1 click upgrade, or do a fresh install via live CD (type liveinstall in the boot options).
I personally prefeer installing suse 11.4 from the normal dvd with gnome, and then using the 1 click to upgrade. Because when doin a fresh install from the live dvd, the liveinstaller installs a diferent kernel (the standrard instead of desktop), plus some virtualbox host kernel modules you dont need and can be hard and tricky (to me at least) to remove.
