There is no setting to “switch on” the laptop in the power saving settings.

Additionally, to start applications with english UI, simply prepend LANG=C…
LANG=C systemsettings

I think it is time to contact Lenovo.

Or read the answer from the Lenovo support: You cannot start the laptop with the power button when the lid is closed. Only bussiness grade laptops support this function.

The power button IS working. It just doesn’t power on when the lid is closed!

Not exactly my laptop, but close… Very good chance is the same case with my laptop…

I posted a question to lenovo and I am waiting for a response!

Maybe you can consider bying a simplest docking station with power button. You can find a second hand one for reasonable price.
