How to add an app shortcut to KDE panel?

This is infinitely embarrassing. The no-way-to-add-shortcut glitch is in AGAIN! Dragging from K menu does NOT work, I press the LMB on a menu item and Nothing Happens ™!

What a… (out of words for this one).

This !@##$%&@@^^@$$ is unnaceptable. Filing a bug report.

What is output of

zypper lr -d

Are you mixing repositories???

and, after the bug report you should ask for a full refund of your
purchase price…

palladium, this is unfair. Free software doesn’t mean we have to be happy with everything we get just because we didn’t pay. Everyone is allowed to be unsatisfied and express it, too.

Nevertheless, I am running the latest KDE4.4 and it still works to drag shortcuts to the panel - I am afraid the bug is not on KDEs side.

Edit: I better repeat this:

i hope to say this in the kindest way possible, so i will begin with a
smile

but unhappy users should remain civil, patient with, and thankful to
those who have, through a LOT of volunteer effort, corporate
sponsorship and personal out-of-pocket expense provided an alternative
system at no cost…

if poster’s here do otherwise i reserve the right to fairly point
that out…

if you don’t like what or how i say that, then you may continue
admonishing me as you wish…as you have been, rather often lately…

however, eventually you will notice that despite your resistance and
difference of opinion i will continue to do as i please in following
my own opinion of ‘fairness’…

no one here owes poster ‘rulatir’ a polished and finished product
which s/he finds acceptable, therefore her/his

“This !@##$%&@@^^@$$ is unnaceptable. Filing a bug report.”

is way outta line in my opinion, and i don’t mind pointing that out,
every time it comes up…

i therefore ask you to reconsider your next admonishment as while
they will always remain an opinion i will automatically and fully
reject out of hand, they are beginning to get under my skin…so why
not let the highly paid moderators chide me, as they see fit…

okay?
is that fair enough?

palladium

You seem to have read more than I have written, palladium.

I will comment on that via pm, let’s not pull this thread into the OT-area, okay?

I am surprise this is happening on your side. My openSUSE 11.2 with kde 4.4x is using 4 panels and never had the problem adding the shortcuts. As one poster said widgets should be unlocked before adding the shortcuts. If you have more than one panel in my case 4 as a start add the kmenu widget on each every panel and using the kmenu to add more widgets to the panel, when done you can delete the kmenus and just retain one maybe on the left side panel.

drag and drop also works for me…;^)
