How i install opensuse 15.6 on UFS disk?

i did try to install opensuse 15.6 leap, on ASUS vivobook, (has UFS disk)…

i did install ubuntu is works installed and ubuntu recognized UFS disk, but opensuse not recognized, but only detected: generic flash unit…nothing other disks…

motherboard is uefi, ahci, secure boot: disable…uefi has not legacy mode…

so i want to install opensuse and not ubuntu… how?

UFS is an unsupported and therefore blacklisted filesystem in openSUSE.
https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:FilesystemBlacklisting

ok, is there how active blacklist one UFS in pendrive installation opensuse 15.6?

Please don’t confuse people.

Universal Flash Storage, not Unix File System:

To OP: provide more info - model #, other characteristics.

Try to disable Intel Volume Management Device (VMD) technology:

https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1044458/

If this not help, then you need to add UFS drivers.

Vivobook Go 15 OLED (L1504G)

bios has not VMD… how add driver with opensuse 15.6?

As 1st step try to use Live ISO.
For Leap you can find it at https://download.opensuse.org/download/distribution/openSUSE-stable/live/ .

It should be enabled in Leap 15.6:

CONFIG_SCSI_UFSHCD=m
CONFIG_SCSI_UFS_BSG=y
CONFIG_SCSI_UFS_CRYPTO=y
CONFIG_SCSI_UFS_HPB=y
CONFIG_SCSI_UFS_FAULT_INJECTION=y
CONFIG_SCSI_UFS_HWMON=y
CONFIG_SCSI_UFSHCD_PCI=m
# CONFIG_SCSI_UFS_DWC_TC_PCI is not set
CONFIG_SCSI_UFSHCD_PLATFORM=m
CONFIG_SCSI_UFS_CDNS_PLATFORM=m

But it is possible that installer does not include it. In which case one could use Driver Update Disk during installation.

Good to know.
I hope this will work. Otherwise more difficult solutions will be needed.

Problem now: The debian installer does not recognize the UFS-Drive. When I get to the partitioning, all I see is a 8 GB SanDisk Cruzer which is my Installer-Stick. I tried the expert install, because it offers some additional modules to load. But I found nothing suitable there. Any hints? The BIOS has no Options for the drive.

The Ubuntu-Installer recognizes the UFS-Drive: My Installer-Stick is sda, the internal drive appears as sdb and I can see the Windows-Partitions and the free space there. But I really would like to install a debian…

ok, please youtube or step-step, during installation: how add…can you do it?

for now i try LIVE KDE opensuse…try…

F6 Driver

Press this key to notify the system that you have an optional driver update for openSUSE Leap. With File or URL, load drivers directly before the installation starts. If you select Yes, you are prompted to insert the update disk at the appropriate point in the installation process.

This is for legacy boot. IDK about UEFI boot.
