How do I get an on-screen caps-lock telltale at login and elswhere?

The link is in the pink and red banner which shows up when the plugin is either not installed or not activated.
Since I activated the plugin, of course that banner is no longer present. Asuming you are using Firefox,
disable the plugin. If the banner appears on the page you will see the link therein. If the banner doesn’t show up
I don’t know what else to tell you as that is the sum total of my knowledge on this as best I am able to present.
I hope you find this helpful.

Sorry, but I think you missed the cogent bit of info that another poster indicated to you.
We are addressing the java requirment of the web page not the extension itself.
I might suggest that you take the time and effort to carefully read, digest and understand the content of a post
(even from a “newb”) before posting a reply. It will go a long way toward minimizing wasted time, effort and
the resultant frustration created by “talking past each other”.
In an effort to answer your query:

disable the plugin ( I can direct you how to do so if needed).

Every answer always seems to create a host of other questions:)

  1. So how would I check for missing lib(s)?
  2. Is it standard to not present any indication of installation success
    / failure?
  3. Is there a way to reveal the install process as it occurs
(in looking glass or other tool) and would that prove success /
    failure?
  4. If there is a gui control for the extension, where should it show
    up?
  5. Thanks for the shell tip! Is there a way to know when a restart,
    log-out
or reboot is appropriate (and which)?

Hi
All questions and no answers…

To search, if you want a GUI, then YaST Software Management here you
can enter search terms ( a check in the box indicates installed),
search on the word indicator.

Else quicker from the command line with zypper;

zypper se -i indicator

se = search, -i = installed.

For GNOME shell have a look here (it is old but still valid)

No problem.

Ah, a fellow CompuServe sysop. I remember my time there quite fondly.
(netwire was my area, along with cpqforum for a bit).

Generally here, we find that telling someone “that isn’t helpful to my
problem” generally devolves into a discussion that gets off topic. The
audience here is different than a forum full of technical users, because
it’s a mix of technical folks and non-technical folks, so the
interpretations vary widely.

It’s probably easiest just to (as you did) thank them for trying to help,
but that you don’t see the relevance and either identify the relevance
that you might be missing or just leave it.

In our forums, sometimes side discussions happen, and while the side
discussion might not be helpful to the original problem, it may be useful
for those participating in it, so we don’t discourage that kind of
tangent as long as it’s on-topic for the forum. (Offtopic, would, for
example, be like taking my comment about being a fellow CompuServe sysop
and spinning a side-discussion in here - that’s a better topic for the
general-chit-chat discussion)

Does that make sense?

(And thanks for asking!)

Official GUI endorsed by GNOME is extensions site. You can also use gnome-tweak-tool which is in 13.2 integrated in system settings. I do not use English desktop so I do not know how it is called there in English.
