How do I edit xorg.conf without sax2 resetting it?

I need to edit my xorg.conf to enable SLI and change my mouse driver so it can be recognized by xbindkeys. How can I edit the file and still keep my sax2 config?

open a console,then,type

kdesu kate /etc/X11/xorg.conf

if you are using KDE & edit to your hearts content

I’m using GNOME =/
This is the guide I’m trying to follow:
Logitech - openSUSE

I am able to edit the file but its automatically changed by sax2 every time X starts.

try

gnomesu gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Ok that seemed to work. The issue I was having earlier was that when I tried to add a second card in SLI my config wasn’t saving. I’ll give it another try.
