How can i access URL form different networks too???
i can access one url
eg: http://mail.com
only in office which is a part of local network,
but that cannot be accessible in my home network if i use docomo or airtel connection. Also i know that is in different networks.
But i need to know where should i enable ports or is there any thing which has to configured and give access to that URL from all diferent networks???
http://mail.com is reachable from any machines correctly connected to
the internet and using a reliable domain name server (DNS)…
if you can’t get to mail.com but can get to http://213.165.66.221 (try
it) then you just need a to adjust your DNS…one way to do that would
be to use Google’s DNS, a way to do that is explained here: http://tinyurl.com/c9a3utb
let us know how you get on…and, if that doesn’t work you need to
tell use what operating system and version you are using, and what
desktop environment, using Network Manager or if up, and if this ever
worked for you, and the suddenly stopped working…
oh, and are you wired to the net or using wireless? how? what hardware?
To add one detail to that, I’ve seen odd issues when IPv6 was enabled
and the network I was on did not handle requests properly. This has
come up several time before in this forum. As a simple test, disable
IPv6 in Yast and reboot. Some client apps (Firefox, Thunderbird, etc.)
will have options to disable DNSv6 name resolution within them which is
kind of neat too for testing (about:config in Firefox) so perhaps try
that too. Also, try another browser, or testing from the command line
(post the output here if it is not clear what the output shows):
