I tried using blender Cycles with my new RX 9070XT, but it is not recognized with HIP. I installed ROCm, but it is still not recognized.
Anyone having a fix? Feel free to ask for precisions.

I am also using the blender portable install 4.5 LTS.
I wrote this past year, maybe it helps you.
I’m sorry, forgot to insert link
Is it normal that it says that it says that the repo doesn’t contain the URL ‘gpgkey=’ ?
It did not work.
The ROCm core show up as installed but blender cannot find it.
tried to enable hip-runtime-amd to see if it worked but it says the package is broken
and I can confirm it is broken for real, my computer would not boot past the loading screen until I removed the package in safemode
Anyone else running into a similar problem ?
Please, don’t put a message for each phrase, this is not a chat!!!
It works for Tumbleweed, that have not official version of ROCm for Tumbleweed. I’m not on my AMD GPU computer now, but I’ll show you my config in 8 hours.
Meanwhile, you can check this user fix on Reddit, that is exactly what you was looking for.
Thank you! It worked! I think my problem was that I didn’t ass my user to the video and render groups, but that may also be the other packages I downloaded.
Posting a screenshot here because I saw a lot of messages getting deleted on reddit by mass redaction tools.
BTW, AMD provides no support for RX 9070 XT + SUSE SLES (openSUSE), neither Leap, nor TW, only for Ubuntu and RHEL:
Radeon AI PRO R9700, Radeon RX 9070, Radeon RX 9070 GRE, Radeon RX 9070 XT, Radeon RX 9060 XT, Radeon PRO W7700, and Radeon RX 7800 XT are supported only on Ubuntu 24.04.2, Ubuntu 22.04.5, RHEL 9.6, RHEL 9.5, and RHEL 9.4.
Blender is available from openSUSE repos:
