I have installed PlayOnLinux on my fresh installed openSUSE desktop pc, however I have a problem. In the past time I used *ubuntu and I always backed up my PlayOnLinux installations with the PlayOnLinux Vault. For example, I have Civilization 4 backed up because my installation cd broke a long time ago, with this PlayOnLinux Vault I don’t have to install the game everytime when I do a re-installation of *ubuntu. Now the problem is that when i restore the game the game doesn’t start, I had this issue with Debian before and it turned out that I needed some 32bit library’s, so I installed them and it worked fine. However on openSUSE the problem is different, it’s complaining about the sound:
As you can see it’s whining about a sound module. I have set Civilization to Wine 1.4 because it was the stable version used in Ubuntu 12.04 and at time I created this backup. When I change the Wine version on PlayOnLinux on System the games suddenly works but I wanted to find out why it doesn’t work with Wine 1.4, because in Debian and *ubuntu it worked fine. I have installed Wine 1.4 in my PlayOnLinux but that doesn’t change the problem.
Using Google with the error message gives me suggestions to install the 32bit packages of alsa, but I already have them on my system.
Can someone help me with this annoying issue because this means that when I want to install a another program in the future ill have to use the system Wine and not all programs will work with that I think.
