Help please installing recoll

I am posting he e rather than Apps because I seek help with installing the app recoll but also clarifying my existing installed repos.

I understand that recoll is available from the KDE:Extra repo so how do I go about installing recoll please.

Here is my existing repo setup:-

alastair@HP-Z640-1:~> zypper lr

I have two openSUSE:Tumbleweed installed. I have no idea how or why but do I need both and should I delete either?

I also have a source and a debug package installed but not updated. I am not, afaik, using these now. Should I delete them?
Budgie2

You are long enough around to know that your command is useless without URLs. You can give each repository a fantasy name and it wont tell anything…
Show
zypper lr -d

It is standard since ages/the beginning, that the debug and source repos are setup but disabled by default. They can easily be enabled when needed (debugging of a program crash as example ,or rebuilding some packages).

You need to setup the KDE:Extras repositorie and install recoll from there:

https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Extra/openSUSE_Tumbleweed/

Hi hui, many thanks.
Guilty once again. I just do not remember noticing these debug and source repos. I had noticed the different repos but not copied them here. This is what I should have posted:-

Thanks for the advice on the recoll app.

Repo 6, 7 and 8 can be removed as they are double…

You also should decide if you want to have full packman (repo 5) or packman essentials (repo 4). Packman essentials is part of full packman repo.

Many thanks. I shall do as you say but I have no idea why they were all there in the first place.

Regarding Packman I thought what you explained was the case. I recall adding the essential before I had installed the full repo.
KDE:Extra repo now installed so all good. Very many thanks once more.
Regards,
Alastair.

Dear Hui, I know I am pushing my luck here but please could you also advise on my repos on my Leap 15.5 workstation as I think I have similar unnecessary repos here too:-

It seems to me that lines 3 and 4 are not required. Am I right? The rest, before I install KDE:Extra looks correct. Grateful for your advice as ever.

I also have an issue installing recoll:-

#### YaST2 conflicts list - generated 2024-02-01 11:53:43 ####

nothing provides 'libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.38)(64bit)' needed by the to be installed recoll-1.36.2-5.7.x86_64

[ ] break recoll-1.36.2-5.7.x86_64 by ignoring some of its dependencies

    [ ] do not install recoll-1.36.2-5.7.x86_64

#### YaST2 conflicts list END ###

I assume the GLIBC_2.38 is not available in Leap 15.5 but is in TW.
Is now the time to move up to Leap 15.6 or should I bite the bullet and move the workstation to TW? I note that 15.6 is still Alpha so would rather stay with 15.5. I am looking for long term stability as my underlying hardware is, like me, old!

Yes, they are redundant and can be safely removed.

Uhm, this thread was about Tumbleweed so i gave you the KDE:Extra link for Tumbleweed. For Leap 15.5 you need this one:

https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Extra/openSUSE_Leap_15.5/

As Leap and Tumbleweed are different flavours, they use different repos.

Here is an overview of the available KDE repos:
https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:KDE_repositories

Perfect and many thanks.
