Help File issue in KDE

I posted previously about a problem getting the Help files to install
with KMyMoney. The problem was resolved only after reinstalling openSUSE
from the boxed DVD. I concluded the problem was of my own making.

BUT…

Then I decided to try GnuCash as a personal accounting manager. I
installed it from the openSUSE dvd. NO HELP FILES once again.

The GnuCash mailing list archives indicates this is a common problem
using openSUSE and KDE. The only solution proposed was to change to
GNOME desktop. Has this apparent bug been fixed?

I sort of like KDE but not at the expense of having to rebuild the
system to get access to help files.

Is there any way to work around this?

I started over with GNOME instead of KDE. No problems since. Some things
are just more trouble than they are worth.
