Heat problems

HI i have a MSI GX610PX notebook, runnig openSUSE 11.

both CPU core`s are running on full power, even if i have only firefox and pidgin turned on, what should i do to turn down the cpu tact so the notebook doesnt overheat so much ? this was happening in windows only when i had some game turned on and not just web browser and messenger
