Hearts... where is this game??

So far, I have really enjoyed my re-introduction to SUSE. (I last used it a decade or more ago)

Right now, my challenge has been to install the Hearts game.

I have gone through the Yast software management, but can’t find it. It seems somewhat odd that this game is not in the default install.

Where is this game?

Thanks so much.
Steve.

Is that Cards?

It’s possibly integrated as a game selection in kpatience

There must not be anyone maintaining the package. If a package doesn’t
have an official maintainer, it’s generally not included.

Here’s what I found:

Evidently not in Kpatience. Thanks, though.

Jim,

That url did not lead to an installable package.

But, can the gnome hearts card game be installed under kde? Or, is that undesirable or impossible?

Thanks
Steve.

can the gnome hearts card game be installed under kde

Yes
It may need to add some gnome dependencies though.

I just did a search at http://software.opensuse.org/search and enabled
the option to search user repositories as well.

GNOME apps work fine under KDE and vice versa, as long as you have the
required libraries installed.

Here’s where hendersj’s link took me:

hearts
home:wolfi323/openSUSE_11.4
This is a clone of Ms windows' hearts game for the KDE.
1-Click Install
Manual Package Download
Go to OBS Project
i586 hearts-1.98-6.1.i586.rpm
src hearts-1.98-6.1.src.rpm
x86_64 hearts-1.98-6.1.x86_64.rpm

So perhaps you need to review how you’re doing your searches.

Wow! Exactly what I found.

In my naivete, I choose the one click install, which returned odd url error. The x86 rpm did install and Hearts is running.

While this has the plus of being a multiplayer game, I found the graphics on the plain side.

Thanks for your hep. Steve.
