Volgende melding gekregen, helaas zal de hdd het wel opgegeven hebben. maar wil toch ook kijken of ik nog wat kan redden aan spul. Hoe gaat dat nu lukken. Ben even de juiste weg zoek.

Het gaat kennelijk om een verwijderbaar apparaat dat je probeert te gebruiken. Dus niet om éën van de disk (partities) die je altijd gebruikt (zoals / and eventueel /home).

Je hebt kennelijk nogal wat mass-storage apparaten aangesloten. Weet je welke sdh is?

Kijk eens even naar xfs_repair. Heeft ook man pages.

O, ja, en aannemend dat dit een externe schijf is ( anders zou ie niet op /run/media … aangekoppeld worden ), draai eens

dmesg -w

, sluit de schijf aan en kijk naar de output. Evt… hier kopiëren tussen CODE tags ( #)

Ik heb deze hdd uit een andere pc gehaald en aan mijn pc gehangen… Ben inderdaad de CODE tags vergeten, sorry.
Zit nu even niet thuis, zal het even doen als ik weer daar ben.
Zal de hdd eerst in de originele pc proppen.

Zo heb de hdd even terug gezet in de pc. Kan nu IceWM opstarten , echter zonder internet. Snapper rollback wil ook niet werken.
Er is in ieder geval een interne error XFS_WANT_CORRUPTED_RETURN op sda3
Zal toch moeten gaan zoeken nu.

Heb nu de pc gestart met een live usb stick 42.2

Daar zit de crux.

Als er anders niks meer mee te beginnen is ( schijf kan een tik gehad hebben en dan houdt het een keer op ), kun je nog


xfs_repair -d /dev/sda3

maar die “-d” staat voor “repair dangerously”.

Bedankt GertJan ,
daar zal wel een rottigheidje uit gaan rollen. Hoop dat ik in ieder geval nog wat data kan overhevelen naar een andere hdd.
Waar de eventuele tik vandaan kan komen is niet belangrijk, helaas was dit wel na een update.
Is trouwens niet de eerste pc die ik met dit probleem had, helaas ook steeds met Leap 42.1
Op deze pc kreeg ik het probleem niet getackeld, de andere kon ik nog met een snapper oplossing terug krijgen.

Mijn ervaring: als xfs_repair er niks meer mee kan, dan gaat 't iets fysieks met de schijf. Ik zoek nog even

O, en snapper is alleen voor je btrfs filesystems, niet voor xfs. Btrfs zou ik ook niet doen voor grote(re) data partities.

Het wil niet echt lukken met deze hdd, sda3 the structure needs cleaning.
Vervelende is dat de pc en hdd niet van mij is. Dame van 86 die graag haar foto’s en zo terug wil.

Als xfs_repair 't zonder -d niet doet en je kunt niet bij de data … Als filesystem kapot is beyond repair, of de schijf, dan houdt het een keer op. Ik meen me te herinneren dat ik nog data terug gekregen heb met dd_rescue , maar ik heb in ieder geval met een klant ook zo’n ramp meegemaakt. Sindsdien dwing ik ze een externe schijf te kopen of alles te syncen naar Googe of dergelijke.

Yep. dd_rescue is je kans. Met ( zoals 't nu bij jou was )

dd_rescue /dev/sda3 sda3.iso

Als ik 't me goed herinner kun je die iso dan mounten, en er een filesystemcheck op loslaten. Ik kreeg 1 map met allemaal gekke tekens ( geen vreemde taal ), en bestanden van 9.93TB per stuk. Maar goed, ik kon nog 't e.e.a. terughalen.

O.k dat moet het dan gaan doen voor me, de dame in kwestie heeft niet veel know how van dingen opslaan is een echte gebruiker en internetter. Met haar leeftijd mag dat wel. Zal in ieder geval voorzichtig gaan proberen :wink:

Hè. Die poging tot mounten heb je al gehad. Ik heb nog even verder zitten zoeken, ook bij xfs.org, maar 't lijkt erop dat de enige optie die je nog hebt, die -L optie is. Sneu voor de dame. Ik heb zelf ook iets dergelijks meegemaakt bij een klant. Ook een bejaarde. Gewoon schijf naar de klote, en dan ligt er naast de PC al 3 maand een 1 TB externe schijf, die zonder USB kabel geleverd is …

Hetzelfde hier dus, zij heeft usb-sticks die ze steeds weer vergeet te gebruiken.
Zal die -L optie maar eens gaan bekijken, anders eens naar een hackers club in Rotterdam.
