i did a fresh install so as of current i have whatever default repos are in the slowroll iso and still this issue persists. and i dont blame the whole of opensuse i blame packman repos alone. anyway not like i can make packman work so nothing i can do but wait or use mpv witch i may just do forever now.
The problem is that this Tumbleweed thread was hijacked by Slowroll users…
Thanks for the explanation. No wonder I do not understand.
I will leave this thread, I do not like to contribute to such type of mess.
vlc flatpack also seems to have the codecs as far as i can tell so far no issues playing videos and clementine works fine for audio no more packman repos for me and boy i hope this works out because if it dose i never have to worry about mesa or codec problems for hopefully a long time. thank you so much pavinjoseph!!!

you wouldnt happen to know how to get video thumbnails like .mp4 to have thumbnails that work without packman repos enabled would you?
This function is provided on Gnome by totem-video-thumbnailer, totem is Gnome’s video player and this package provides thumbnails for it.
If you want a proper movie or TV library, it’s better to install Jellyfin or Kodi inside a container, posters and description are all included!
