I can access the shares both through a mount -t cifs shell command and through an ftp client (gFTP and filezilla). However, when trying to access directly from dolphin (network->add network folder, etc) it won’t work. If using SMB, I will be challenged infinite times, with no success, and with FTP, I will not be challenged, but will be shown an empty window. I’m running 11.2, 64 bits, but had the same problem with 11.1
yes. there is no firewall running on the desktop. as I pointed out on my first post, I can connect to NAS with no problems from an FTP client on the desktop (filezilla) and also by issuing a mount -t cifs command, but not from dolphin.
So hang on -
Is this a stand alone device?
You can connect with filezilla from your desktop?
You are trying to connect from your desktop with Dolphin but it fails?
What protocols will this device accept? I’m not familiar with it/them.
I connect to my main box which for me acts as a file server. But I have to enable the services/protocols I want to use.
If only ftp is enabled then that is what you must use
The fish:// command I gave earlier is specific to kde and linux
the dlink DNS 323 NAS supports both SMB and FTP. As stated before, I can access it from filezilla and I can mount the device via mount -t cifs – in both cases there will be no problem. But I can’t access it from dolphin, neither through FTP nor through SMB.
