do ‘sudo snapper list’ to check you have snapshots first. The grub snapshot list is under advanced options (from memory) - and you say you have none?
Same issue with a fresh install yesterday.
I checked my
SUSE_BTRFS_SNAPSHOT_BOOTING=true"
in /etc/default/grub
and
### BEGIN /etc/grub.d/80_suse_btrfs_snapshot ###
if -f "/.snapshots/grub-snapshot.cfg" ]; then
source "/.snapshots/grub-snapshot.cfg"
fi
### END /etc/grub.d/80_suse_btrfs_snapshot ###
in my /boot/grub2/grub.cfg
all is ok for these one.
now with sudo snapper list

when i boot, if i go in advance i see
https://imagebin.ca/v/3rrKsSxSHllE
https://ibin.co/w800/3rrKsSxSHllE.jpg
why i don’t see any snapshot?
correction: grub snapshots not under advanced they have their own menu entry
>SUSE_BTRFS_SNAPSHOT_BOOTING=true"
mine has 2 quotes
SUSE_BTRFS_SNAPSHOT_BOOTING="true"
did you change something e.g. implement the grub.rpmnew file or something?
i notice there was a forum post a long time ago about similar issue, might be worth looking through
https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/507260-After-upgrade-options-relarted-to-btrfs-not-visible-in-grub-menu
in /etc/default/grub, i have this entry
SUSE_BTRFS_SNAPSHOT_BOOTING=“true”
in /etc/default/

in /boot/grub/grub.cfg i see
stuff about btrfs
will check your link
It looks like you disabled submenus. So you have long list of kernels. Try scrolling down.
Show actual file, not your stories about what is in it.
this is highly confusing have just realised 2 people are posting their results.
collinm - if you are on tumbleweed, your snapshot history shows you are updating incorrectly (packagekit) you need to use zypper dup
vurdaan - you havnt explained the malformed
>SUSE_BTRFS_SNAPSHOT_BOOTING=true"
where is tumblewwed it specified we need to use zypper dup to update and not package kit or yast?
if it’s disabled, tumbleweed have done it.
what file you want to see?
> where is tumblewwed it specified we need to use zypper dup to update and not package kit or yast?
everywhere. every week in the forums and mailing lists it comes up. type into google ‘how to update tumbleweed’. be sure to do a dup before trying to solve your problem.
/etc/default/grub. Showing /boot/grub2/grub.cfg also makes sense (probably too large to paste inline, you can upload to http://susepaste.org/).
copy pasted content
/etc/default/grub
http://susepaste.org/14369418
/boot/grub2/grub.cfg
http://susepaste.org/59245568
and if the person don’t use forums and mailing list?
i think if the user is supposing to use only zypper to update… the other way should be disabled … or a msg should be displayed to the user…

This does not match your screenshot; may be some kernels had already been removed. But anyway, I noticed that you said “go in advance”. Snapshots are not present in “Advanced options” submenu, they have their own top level submenu. This has always been this way. Not sure why you looked for them Advanced. You grub.cfg contains part that should offer booting from snapshots.
> i think if the user is supposing to use only zypper to update… the other way should be disabled
agreed - i have brought this up several times on the mailing list - that the gui is actively misleading users - but none will listen.
that change not the fact then there are no snaptshot…
