I built a new tower with a Foxconn board. Graphics supplied is UniChrome Pro IGP that fixes resolution 800 x 600. My monitor is HP7500 with 1280 x 1024. I have tried downloading Nvidia that refuses installation. Later downloaded VIA for compatible driver and SuSE 10.1, but installation instructions seem vague.

Sounds like you just need to use the vesa driver and run Sax2 to
configure with your monitor;
Press ctrl+alt+F1 and login as your user
su -
init 3
sax2 -r -m 0=vesa
init 5 && exit
ctrl+alt+F1
exit
ctrl+alt+F7
The ctrl+alt+F7 gets you back to the GUI (X session).
Now if it’s all working ok with the vesa, have a look at the following

You could also look here and search for openchrome and unichrome;
