I did try at the time though found it difficult. Google Drive and possibly other similar services have been around for a while and it is very unfortunate that opensuse has not an easier method.

Well, there is kio-gdrive which should allow you to access Google Drive from all KDE/KF5 applications (including dolphin the file manager).

For Leap 42.2 it’s available in the KDE:Extra repository. (but it will be included in 42.3 directly in the standard repos)

And for GNOME, just add the online google account, enter your google username/password and then in Nautilus click on the drive in the lefthand pane, already there for Leap 42.2 et al.
