Gnome Software manager in openSUSE Leap?

Hi everyone,

Has anyone managed to get Gnome Software working on openSUSE Leap? I tried installing it, and it only shows one (1) app, Firefox. There are no available software sources and no apparent way to add them, nothing found in the search results, completely useless. But my openSUSE Leap installation is fairly minimal, so maybe I’m missing some necessary additional component? (I do have AppStream data installed.)

Thanks!

it is called yast in openSUSE

Hi
What about libzypp-plugin-appdata, libsqlite3?

Just checked here on my Leap install, gnome-software shows lots of apps
etc…

Thanks malcolmlewis for the help!

Yes, I do have those packages installed. However, I don’t have anything PackageKit related installed. It’s not a dependency of gnome-software either, but I wonder if it’s actually needed?

This is all I get:

Hi
On the right-hand side is the list of required packages, but then it’s possibly libpackagekit-glib2-18;
https://build.opensuse.org/package/binary/GNOME:STABLE:3.16/gnome-software?arch=x86_64&filename=gnome-software-3.16.6-2.6.x86_64.rpm&repository=openSUSE_13.2

Hi again. I already had libpackagekit-glib2-18 installed. But I tried installing all of the PackageKit packages and it basically started working. Now I can search for applications, see installed apps, and I see available software sources. After refreshing and installing updates, it found a few categories (“Games”, “Internet”, “Office”, “Utilities”), with a some blank featured items inside and few sub-categories. Does anybody here have gnome-software with more categories and more available software?
