Does anyone know if this is ready to use? If it is how do we install it and start it to use?

have no idea…never tried it myself…but they are up to version 2.8
(so, unless they number their programs strangely then it must be
“ready to use”)…

this page http://live.gnome.org/GnomeShell
has a link to instructions for installing it on openSUSE 11.2
and links to scree nshots and feature reviews…
NOTE: i found that page by putting “Gnome-Shell” (with the quote
marks) in a Google blank and pressed enter, then clicked on the top
hit (of about half a million hits))
but, you wanted to know about the experience folks HERE had with it on
openSUSE, right?
so i used a special technique at Google, called a “site specifier”
with a search string like this:
site:forums.opensuse.org “Gnome-Shell”
and
http://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Aforums.opensuse.org+“Gnome-Shell”
returns 21 posts here on the subject…magic!
why don’t you try out the Gnome-Shell, it looks kinda
interesting…and then come back and tell us (or the next person with
questions on Gnome-Shell) all about how “ready to use” it is, or is not…
and, Have a lot of fun.

Ubuntu is an African word meaning “I can’t set up Debian.”
Thanks for the help as usual.
