gnome-paint

hello everybody!!

i’m sorry for my stupid questions, but i’m quite new in linux world.
does anybody that had already installed gnome-paint could help me??
i don’t know how to start the installation.

thanks and sorry for my bad english too.

Welcome, if I haven’t already said so.

I suggest you start reading the stickies in the forums, read about the basics of openSUSE. It may take some time, but that will pay off in the future.

Start Yast, Software Manager/Installer and search for “paint” with only the Name option checked. In the right panel you will see all packages that have “paint” in the package name; gnome-paint should be there. Tick the checkbox in front of it, click Accept. It may tell you it’s installing some more packages, they will be needed. Let it do it’s job, done, gnome-paint installed.

hi:)

but when i type “paint” appears only kde4-kolourpaint…
will it work in gnome? (i’m not sure, but i don’t thonk so)

thanks

p.s. i’ve installed a week ago opensuse 11.1 with gnome

It is indeed not in the standard repos, nor to be found using Webpin or Software.openSUSE.org.

But it does exist :).

I do not know if kde4-kolourpaint does about the same as gnome-paint.

BTW one can run KDE programs on a Gnome desktop and vv. Do not be amazed when the fiirst KDE program you try to install will draw in a lot of other KDE packages, that is normal.

Odd that package is not in main repository or Webpin (Package Search) (I use 11.3). kolourpaint may work but it will pull in a lot of KDE dependencies.

thank everybody for your support;)
