Gigabyte X570 motherboard AMD Ryzen 9 won't wake from sleep

Gigabyte X570 motherboard with AMD Ryzen 9 CPU.

Won’t wake from sleep.

Symptoms: PC appears to sleep OK. Typing on keyboard to wake machine causes it to start up, fans spin, but display remains dark and USB devices don’t function further. (Keyboard caps lock does not toggle, for example.)

Searching the Internet I found https://01.org/blogs/rzhang/2015/best-practice-debug-linux-suspend/hibernate-issues

So first question is your suspend is freeze, mem or disk. Can you try the other modes?

Can you also look in the journal and isolate the part of the log after the suspend and share it here Using Code Tags Around Your Paste or using https://susepaste.org

I wonder if https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1195464 could be the same problem.

I’m not seeing that bug on Tumbleweed or with a 5.16.11 kernel. I’m only seeing it with 15.4 Beta and the 5.14 kernels provided for 15.4.

I have the same issue like the thread starter.
The cause is my nvidia graphic card that uses the .run driver.
I started a thread regarding this before. If I install the .run driver
without the option “no-systemd” the display remains black but the machine
seems already waked up. It is interesting to know what the original thread starter
graphic card installation details.

Try to update BIOS.
AMD had troubles with USB + low power modes.
If update will not help, you will need changes in BIOS settings.

What changes?
