general protection fault

I have a computer with opensuse 15.4, it has been having a lot of crashes, I think must be some hardware issues. I thought it may me be motherboard, so I have changed it and make a fresh install of the OS. First use, I open firefox, and I get a crash

kernel:  1798.435295][T12354] traps: Isolated Web Co[12354]  general protection fault ip:7fb08ab9ce26 sp:7fff329e0f60 error:0 in  libxul.so[7fb085c2f000+8a7a000]

may be the processor?

Hi
Check the system ram… run memtest86 on it, and/or pull clean contacts and reseat.

No problem apparent here with same GPU, 2 hours system uptime, and Firefox ESR 102.4.0.

When you open Firefox, how many tabs are restored? Is there any particular website that is troublesome? Which Firefox version?

@fperal:

Which Leap 15.4 system repositories are you using?

On another thread, the issue seems to be that, the System repositories were changed to “https://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/” which is the Packman repository – which ain’t guaranteed to be consistent …
