So no space constraint on disk and no exotic graphics, so the upgrade per se should have completed? And did you rollback meanwhile or just booted the old 7.1.8 kernel?
Maybe there is something odd with the recent KDE upgrade, but the system is otherwise OK? So when at the “blank screen” does CTRL+ALT+F4 allow you to login to a command-line session or is the system stuck and the only option is to flip the power switch?
I rollback to 7.1.8, this system is ok. The screen was black, but with CTRL+ALT+F4 manage to reboot.
