Flickering windows after Tumbleweed upgrade 2026-01-31

Using xfce.
Graphics card model: “nVidia GP107 [GeForce GTX 1050]”

After the upgrade, sometimes a window’s client rectangle will intermittently fail to draw, showing the window under it for a frame or two. Effectively it flickers really fast.

Affected applications include the noscript browser extension in Waterfox, the terminal emulator, the desktop bar, but it happens most often with Krita.

Here’s are my depots:

| Alias | Name | Enabled | GPG Check | Refresh

–±---------------------------±----------------±--------±----------±-------
1 | NVIDIA:repo-non-free | repo-non-free | Oui | (r ) Oui | Oui
2 | openSUSE:repo-non-oss | repo-non-oss | Oui | (r ) Oui | Oui
3 | openSUSE:repo-openh264 | repo-openh264 | Oui | (r ) Oui | Oui
4 | openSUSE:repo-oss | repo-oss | Oui | (r ) Oui | Oui
5 | openSUSE:repo-oss-debug | repo-oss-debug | Non | ---- | ----
6 | openSUSE:repo-oss-source | repo-oss-source | Non | ---- | ----
7 | openSUSE:update-tumbleweed | update-tumble-> | Oui | (r ) Oui | Oui
8 | packman | packman | Oui | (r ) Oui | Oui

I have flickering of my entire desktop when it wakes from sleep. I haven’t found a cure but I use a simple workaround. I open a video: an mp3 or mp4. The flicker stops immediately. It doesn’t matter if the video is long or short. I don’t watch it and I can close it immediately. So, not a solution but it might fix an annoyance.

Thanks for the suggestion. Workaround doesn’t work for my issue unfortunately.
