Firefox hanging, but I'm thinking it's a hardware issue

Hello,

On this page in particular: Notion MCP – Connect Notion to your favorite AI tools

Using Firefox 143.0.3, if I do “Ctrl+f”, then type anything in I get 2, maybe 3 characters in, then Firefox freezes. No high CPU use, no messages in journalctl, and no amount of waiting brings it back. I can tab between windows (not tabs), and the content continues to show (it doesn’t blank out like you’ll sometimes see).

After restarting Firefox, going to about:support and clicking “Troubleshoot Mode…” also causes Firefox to freeze in the exact same way. So, I start firefox with firefox -safe-mode and confirm it still freezes.

Ok, so I have a Firefox problem. I fire up VirtualBox and see if the bug exists in my slightly older Tumbleweed VM - and it does… Except it’s the whole VM that freezes!

So, I’m thinking this must be a video card related issue, right?

I’m running Tumbleweed 20251003 with an Intel i7-12700 and Wayland.

Does anyone have any idea what’s happening or where I can look next?

Thank you!

An update - I restarted my computer and this doesn’t happen any more. I very recently updated my system, so I suspect I’ll come across this bug again. So, I think my question still stands.
