Gnome and FF stock in 13.1

Still working on this
It doesn’t seem to happen all the time.
New profile cleared it up
When I went back to the old profile it was OK

I’ll keep updates coming as and when…

Any news on this? I get the same error since yesterday or the day before, both with Firefox and Thunderbird under 13.1 Gnome. But only on the first login after boot. Logging out and back in again usually solves this for me. But still it’s annoying…

Could the error come from this update?

sysconfig-0.81.5-26.1.x86_64 Di 08 Apr 2014 11:04:01 CEST

It’s the only update I’ve seen in the last couple of days that could be related even remotely.

No news except to say it’s random
Only happens sometimes

This just happened to me again, so I had another look into it. According to http://vazhavandan.blogspot.de/2013/03/gconf-daemon-issue-in-gnome-342.html killing the gconf daemon cures it:

killall gconfd-2

I can confirm that it solves the problem for the running session, but it can happen again after a reboot. Haven’t found any permanent fix or workaround…

Which is I guess why it doesn’t affect my kde installs

I’m having this problem as well, on a quite fresh install of 13.1 with Gnome. A message like this triggers with Firefox, Thunderbird, Instantbird and maybe a few more programs, about 1 in 3 sessions. Firefox also complains if the problem occurs, that it is not set as default browser (obviously a consequence of not being able to read the settings).
