Leap 16 KDE : If I make a MP4 movie from a MOV file, the image I see is blurry and consists of tiny squares. VLC makes movies of good quality, but a TV set gives an error message : “Audio format not supported”.
Which command do you use for converting?
Which video/audio codecs does your TV support?
ffmpeg -i 11okt25_0006.MOV -preset slow -crf 0 -c:a copy test.mp4
I don’t know which audio codecs my TV supports.
The online (or printed) manuals of the TV should provide this information. It is usual that TVs only support a small range of video and audio codecs/containers. After you have found the supported codecs, you need to adapt ypur ffmpeg command to convert into the supported codecs.
Ok, I’ll do so. But in Leap16 KDE ffmpeg is not able to make a good MP4 files with a clear image. In Leap 15.6 by using repo Packman ffmpeg delivered always good MP4 movies and the TV played them with sound.
Problem solved after adding repo Packman. Thanks for all your effort.
