Hey all, I’ve tried several times to set up a dual-boot system with Leap 42.2 and Windows and I’ve never been able to make it work. Googling this I’ve seen references about UEFI and Legacy and MBR combinations that don’t work but I haven’t seen anything that lists the proper procedure for a dual-boot system. Can someone point me to a White Paper or a Blog Post or some other location where I can find instructions on how to get this machine working? And please hold off on the “Just use Linux” comments. This is for a workstation at work and we’re a Windows-based organization. Well, except for a few Linux boxes that I’ve snuck in the server room.
Well, normally, when you have a Windows system with enough unused space on the disk, the installer will care for the double boot. It will just work. No need to consult Google, etc.
And when it goes wrong in your case, you can go to the openSUSE forums to ask for help. But in that case, you have to provide more information then “I’ve never been able to make it work”.
I may never make a joke at a poorly written initial post ever again.
Well, I went back to see about the UEFI boot condition for the workstation and it brought up the OpenSUSE boot menu. And the Windows boot option was there. I like when a glitch in the matrix works out in my favor.
