exa as replacement for ls

I saw a post recommending exa as a replacement for ls. Anyone have an experience with it? Recommendations?

It is written in Rust. What are the implications of that?

As long as you do not post a link to that story. I guess we can not comment on what is written there (lack of crystal balls).

In any case, when you are used to using ls, please carry on doing so as long as you are satisfied with that. It does already exist for ~50 years and I doubt it will disappear any soon.

I probably won’t use it.

I did see what I could find out about it. And one of its big advantages is that it gives colored output. However, to me, that’s a huge disadvantage. Colored output is usually harder for me to read.

Hi
You can always create a tree alias to give some of the same outputs… not sure why folks want to re-invent the wheel?

It often happens. Of course when they like to do that. But expecting that others will love it also may be a bit to much. :dont-know:

Looks like this is a case of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!”

Thanks for the input.
