Could any one, by chance, help me with instructions to set up my Epson artisan 810 as a network scanner…setting it up as printer via tcp/ip was no problem; then I downloaded and installed Epson supporting iscan rpm for scanning, but can’t get it to work…thanks, theo
Did you add the appropriate entry in /etc/sane.d/epkowa.conf yet?

Just to back up a bit here, it’s not clear in your opening post whether you have installed all the required scanner packages. Please confirm that you have downloaded and installed the iscan, iscan-data, and iscan-network-nt packages using
rpm -qa|grep iscan
