Running on KDE desktop with my workstation on one subnet and Kyocera on another subnet, I can ping and print from the Kyocera and have downloaded the most up to date SANE driver available from the Kyocera website but I have failed to get scanner to work.
Any and all suggestions gratefully received.

Hi,
I have brother printer but it was on same subnet , i was able to print but was not able to scan, then after a lot of search , i found that sane service was not allowed in firewall, once i enabled it, now i can scan .
may be it will solve yours also.
regards.
Hi Luka,
<Many thanks for the heads up. I have added sane to my firewall allowed services but have not made any progress. What is annoying is that I have had this working before but since my rebuild I have been stuck.
Thanks again. Will report when solved.

Rather than re-hashing old ground, why don’t you refer to the guidance I already gave you from last time? ( BTW, the sane firewall service is completely irrelevant to this issue.)
Hi Dean,
I had of course seen this and confidently thought I would be able to repeat what I had working in August but had not sorted it out when I wrote. Now all good thanks.
