Emergency

Look…a friend has got a laptop given to by one of his other friends.
Which is the best architecture if im not shure of the processor?

blue , but might be red

google it

Maybe you could ask the other friend of the friend to tell you a bit more about this laptop ?

Also, what is the nature of the emergency ? The title to this thread appears worthless.

how big is the emergency, or the laptop?

DD
-Caveat-Hardware-Software-

hes a technofobe and doesnt know about this stuff and it has no OS installed…its an emergency because he is going away on tuesday

Ok, I am guessing if you want to know if you should install a 32-bit or a 64-bit GNU-Linux ?

A 32-bit OS will work on both a 32-bit hardware and a 64-bit hardware. But a 64-bit OS will only work on 64-bit hardware.

Was that the answer you were looking for ?

Turn the laptop around, at the backside of it there is in most cases some
information like a serial number and the manufacturer and the type/model
name, which you can use to google its hardware specs and you can post the
info here, maybe someone knows the something about it or has the same.
