I am using opensuse 11 - gonome - is there is any other email software other than Evolution mail.

Thunderbird. It’s available from repos: Index of /repositories/mozilla/openSUSE_11.0.
ps.: If you are using Gmail I recommend you Google’s Gmail beta web interface. It loads faster than any other e-mail client.
