Dual screen setup with opensuse 11.1

Hi,

I have a laptop on which i’ve installed opensuse 11.1. it works extremely well.

My laptop is equipped with Nvidia GeForce 8600GT screencard and i’ve installed the nvidia driver.

Everything works absolutely fine. Now, i’ve connected a Samsung 213T screen (21") and i can run my desktop in 1600x1200 on this screen. But can someone please inform me how i ‘blank’ the screen on my laptop when my external screen is connected?

I don’t want the screen on the laptop to be on when i’m using the external screen - or at lest to be blanked out. It’s possible when i run vista on the machine. I only see my deesktop on the samsung not the laptop.

Is it possible to do this in linux? If yes, how?

Thanx in advance.

Best regards

As root try running nvidia-settings and configure your two monitors. Set your laptop as the dfrault monitor and the other as the secondary. When you want to use both monitors the secondary monitor should be plug-in at boot time if not it will screw your settings.
