I’ve just bought a brand new printer - Brother DCP-1512E. I tried to install the .rpm driver from support.brother.com, but it didn’t work at all. Then I installed the DCP-1200 driver from YAST and it worked, but not properly - the printer started to do its tasks wrongly and the scanner didn’t work quite.
Where can I find a .ppd package for DCP-1512E? YAST can’t find it…
Is a no brainer so I used that for my Brother printer. Their script based install seems to work, simple instructions too, but could of course be broken for your model.
They also mention openSUSE regarding those rpm packages if you do not want to be spoon fed by Install Tool. So weird - unless you messed up
