This is apparently a known issue with the latest changes in dovecot but is there any information when the bug will be fixed and Tumbleweed gets updates? Since Wed this week when I did the upgrade, this problem has been ongoing.
I cannot simply go to the previous version because there are other lib dependencies so I’m currently stuck with this.
Or is there a workaround to get the inbox back operational?
There is no bugreport in openSUSE bugzilla. Do you have a link to the upstream issue? Notify the openSUSE maintainers via bugreport to apply the upstream fix.
I was trying to file a bug report but cannot even log in to the system. Bugzilla gives following error:
An LDAP call failed with the following error:
I changed the password successfully but did not make any difference. So, I cannot file a bug report. Could someone help me out with the bug reporting to get this forward?
Problem solved. Nothing to do with dovecot after all. Turned out that none of the mbox files were served by dovecot - or it seemed that way from email clients. The problem was that in Wed update (zypper -v dup) the firewall got activated despite I had turned it off. 993 port was not opened thus no communication with dovecot. After adding the port, all started to work fine.
Very annoying that Thunderbird and (Android) Edison email client didn’t complain anything that they cannot connect to the email server. Everything seemed fine, Tbird was showing that it logs to the server, login etc. all fine but no update.
