Does the OS know what voltage the SBC gets?

It makes sense as USB PD negotiates the voltage and current it needs. But even if this value is queried from the kernel, can we trust that the supply is actually delivering the negotiated power?

That’s some exotic hardware you got there
Pretty awesome considering it can drive an 8K output with 20-40W :exploding_head:

The hardware is indeed quite powerful. It handles the simple chores I throw at it without even using the Mali G610 GPU inside the SoC. Right now I can only use one display at 1920×1080px with software rendering, but that is enough for what I do. Hoping to live off grid in the future will add further limits to my life, but this computer is already prepared for the hard life because of its modest power usage and completely silent fanless cooling.

However… An accelerated driver, panthor, is close to being added into mainland Linux. Probably during summer. I am looking forward to having the GPU helping out with the rendering. That might use even less power than now.

I like this tiny computer. …warts and all. It makes the extra effort worthwhile.

“For full hardware functionality (in ACPI mode), use a kernel with RK3588 support and switch to Device Tree mode.”

What is device tree mode? Would it help me?
