I accidentally press the no display button on my main user name profile in Opensuse 13.1. Now when I go in i cannot see any display to reset. I reinstalled the new Nvidia driver and it works perfectly but in another user profile. I have another user profile and I can readily get into it and it is perfect, perfect resolution, etc. But i cannot get into may main and critical user profile because it is blank. Any ideas how I can get the display to show on my main profile?
Confused where you found the button to press??? It does not appear to be an option in the SYSTEM users in Yast so where it it that you ticked this option?
Also which desktop??
configure desktop, Display and Monitor. It pop up and I tried to get rid of the pop up. you can also disable from the NVIDA driver server console. Now I resinstalled the nvidia driver thinking that that would be all I needed but the Main profile still wont work. The root profile works perfectly so does another profile I made work perfectly. The main profile is still completely blank. In KDE you could have virtual desktops. But i am no talking about that type of desktop, i am talking about user profiles. I have three profiles: Root, Main and John
KDE - i am able to get into the Main User profile but in the failsafe. It does not have the nvidia 3D acceleration so I cannot configure nvidia. But on the other profiles Nvidia driver is working perfectly. When I go into CONFIGURE DESKTOP and DISPLAY in he MAIN PROFILE i only see one default setting and I cannot do anything else. Also the same with the Nvidia console. There is no way to change anything.
Are you referring to System Settings >> Display and Monitor ? If so, maybe you need to delete any existing configuration in your ~/.kde4/share/apps/kscreen/ directory.
THANK YOU… THANK YOU… THANK YOU
